RATS! (and swimming)

BARN2: Aunty Lu caught two young rats today. The big parent rats and the young rats have been running around in our neighbourhood for weeks.

To me as a sharp smelling corgi, rats smell bad. (Shrews smell worse). But guess what?

I'd love to chase them....

DADA: (in one of his rare appearences): Barn chases rats. Marky catches them....

MUMMY: We soon found out- Clare is afraid of them! She didnt want to come out of my bedroom after smelling the rats (Aunty Lu was showing me and Barn2 the rats in the cage). On the way to Petgamart, we put the rats above Clare's carrier....

She was very quiet. Kept licking the sides of her carrier nervously. Hmmmm....

BARN2: What do you do with captured rats? Drown them? I heard (horror of horrors!) Mummy discussing with Aunty Lu about the possiblity of keeping them as PETS since Mummy didnt want to kill them at all !!! ARRGHHH. Thankfully Mummy finally decided to release the rats at Pasir Ris.

Here's the rats in their cage at a big grassland area of Pasir Ris.

The latch is lifted. Bye bye rats....

Humph! Mummy and her Noah's ark ideas....
But for Clare.....

Clare: Ko Ko Barn2 liked Petgamart for one main reason: After swims, he clears his bowels. Poo-s (solids) and poo-s (not so solid stuff) and poo-s...even when there's nothing to poo except liquids. Very clean insides after each trip!!.

Here Aunty Lu is helping him to enjoy the water in between his poo-ing...

Must say that he did quite well today. He actually went into the water a few times to swim... Hmm. Maybe he will catch my passion for swimming one day?

CONTENTED CORGI

BARN2: This morning, Mummy put me in her car. WITHOUT Clare2. This is strange. Why is she not taking my sister?

It was a long trip. Then the smells became more familiar....

It's K9 Kampus...and Pawsitive Sensations....!
Mummy arranged for me to get a massage from Aunty Zoe.

I enjoyed my time there. Thank you Aunty Z! I thought we were headed home. No. Mummy drove a very very long distance (Mummy: We drove around the block 7 times to find a carpark!) Then we walked to a cafe.

Mummy had some yummy lunch (I know, I tasted some of her chicken)...and I had a very interesting lunch with potatoes and meat. (Mummy: Barn2 is not a foodie so he had to be handfed. He finally finished his meal. Must say that he looked very relaxed and contented...)

(Mummy: Er.....maybe once in a while...? Actually this special outing was what I felt I owed Barn2. I didnt bring him along for Clare's birthday party a week ago. So this trip was a special payback to him for being such a good boy when I took Clare out. )

POOL WEDNESDAY

CLARE: Yup, its Wednesday again. Pool day!!!

BARN2: I am not the happiest swimmer. I'd rather be hugged all the time.

( Reluctant corgi being carried into pool vs enthusiastic swimmer)

Today, a Golden Retriever came when we were in the middle of our laps.
I wasn't very thrilled with his presence even though his parents seemed to be very nice folks...and he didnt even bark at me...

(MUMMY: Barn2 was going to do his Napoleon 'I conquer all' routine....so we had to throw him into the water to cool him down...He ended up threading water VERTICALLY. Hee hee)

The boy's got a swollen head: He thinks he is a BIG dog...and hence he tries to pick fights with dogs bigger than him.

Poor boy. We had to put him in his place...He's not TOP DOG. He's just the lovable HUGGY BEAR.

FUN FOTOSHOOT

MARKY: Mummy realised that she hadnt taken many photos with us. She had been busy taking photos of us behind the camera. So she asked Aunty Lu to snap a few shots last night. This was what happened.....

In contrast, when Mummy took a photo with me, you can see how angelic I was....
compared to my short legged siblings....

Aren't you glad you have at least one NICE dog in the house, Mummy?

(MUMMY: Haha)

CLARE'S BIRTHDAY!

CLARE: Today's my very first birthday! Yesterday, we had a joint celebration at EARTH CAFE. Here's the photo of all the corgis present.

We also celebrated the birthdays of.....

and Lucky. She's 4 days older than I....

(OK, Mummy wrote the comments for the photos. She's very rude about me, isnt she?)

Mummy: Clare was playing with her ball one third of the time. The other third...she looked for food....

And of course, she socialised with the other dogs (there were non corgis there too).
She had a not-too-secret admirer....

The corgis there enjoyed themselves...

Clare: Mummy enjoyed herself too, hugging the bunch of us.

My Aunty Lu couldnt come because it was her day off and she needed to be with her sister and nieces. My poor Ko Ko (Barn2) wasnt there too. He was busy male-bonding with Dada at home. Mummy says that he would have tried to chomp every other dog at the party...so he will have a separate outing sometime in the near future.

Other than that...yup, I did have a good time!
